TCTSY - TRAUMA SENSITIVE YOGA

TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga) is the first yoga-based empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is an evidence-based, adjunctive therapy originating out of the Trauma Center (now known as the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI) in Brookline, Massachusetts. TCTSY incorporates some of the foundational elements of traditional hatha yoga, with emphasis on empowerment, choice-making, agency, interoception and the internal, embodied experience of the participant. By focusing on the felt sense of the body to inform choice-making, TCTSY allows participants to restore their connection of mind and body and cultivate a sense of agency that is often compromised as a result of trauma.

TCTSY is designed to be accessible to all bodies, regardless of  age, physical ability, or experience level. Chair/mat options are available and each session is personalized to the individual practitioner.

Bonnie has routinely facilitated TCTSY to both individuals and small groups since completing the 300-Hour TCTSY facilitator training program in 2008.
